Shivendra Mohan, DRM, Vijayawada Division, inaugurated the new digital X-Ray Department while Dr Jaya Mohan, president, SCRWWO, Vijayawada, inaugurated the renovated Children’s Ward at the Railway Hospital here on Wednesday. The new setup consists of state-of-the-art digital X-Ray and computerised radiography systems worth Rs 1.39 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Shivendra Mohan said that the new X-Ray Department with modern facilities would immensely benefit the families of Railway staff. He appealed to the staff to avail of the latest services offered by the Railway Hospital. The new X-Ray system is eco-friendly as the high-resolution images can be shared digitally to the doctor concerned with the help of the Pictures Archiving and Communication System (PACS). It negates the need to physically store the X-Rays and thus saves hospital storage space.
Even critically ill patients can have their X-Rays taken without much trouble due to the auto-positioning feature of the machine. The main advantage of this equipment is that the digital X-ray images are generated within eight seconds and can be printed into physical copies in under one minute.
