Vijay Deverakonda, speaking at the Kushi Musical Concert on Tuesday, talked about Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s battle with Myositis, the autoimmune disorder she has been suffering from. While speaking at the event, Liger star Vijay Deverkonda wished that the movie Kushi would become a decent hit so that they could see Samantha happy and peaceful. He considered her happiness one of his great responsibilities. He also shared how Samantha’s severe struggle with the autoimmune condition myositis has disrupted the Kushi movie, and her revelation of this condition to the public was never easy. She was getting severe headaches, and her eyes hurt because of the bright lights.
“About 60% of the shoot of Kushi was over by July 2022. We got to learn that Samantha would be unable to participate in the shoot. I and director Shiva Nirvana didn’t know about her condition. We tried to convince her to face the camera. After she made her condition public, she stopped talking with us for months. She had her battles,” Vijay said.
The actor added that Samantha is sensitive to light even now. “She is unwell even now. Prolonged exposure to lights leaves her with teary eyes and a headache,” the Liger star said. Vijay added that Samantha going public about her health condition has inspired many who are battling health disorders. “After the pandemic, many are suffering from health issues,” Vijay said.
