Hyderabad: Is the friendship between the BRS and the AIMIM over? The latest incidents indicate so.
After the Congress came to power in Telangana, the AIMIM started moving closer to the Congress and away from the BRS. AIMIM MLAs joining the trip to Medigadda Barrage organised by the Congress government on Monday indicate that the AIMIM is now with the Congress and not with the BRS as the trip was aimed at the BRS.
If the AIMIM was with the BRS its MLAs would not have gone to Medigadda Barrage along with Congress MLAs.
When the Congress government appointed AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi as the pro-tem Speaker the friendship between the Congress and the AIMIM came to the fore. It is a known fact that the AIMIM will sail with whoever is in power.
The AiMIM had sailed with the Congress in the past too, particularly when YS Rajasekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister. At that time the friendship between the AIMIM and the Congress got strengthened. But after the state’s bifurcation when the BRS came to power, the AIMIM became an ally of the BRS.
