AIS officer’s family faces humiliation

An All India Service officer of the state Forest Department family has to face humiliation from his house owner. The senior officer Ramesh Kumar Suman (59), passed away from a heart attack on January 16 while on training session in Kochi, Kerala. Suman, an Indian Forest Service officer from Jharkhand, was serving as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in Andhra Pradesh.
After his death, authorities arranged to bring his body from Kochi to his rented residence in Mangalagiri. However, the landlord refused to allow the mortal remains into the rented premises. As a result, the body was moved to a Forest Department guest house in Guntur. A tent was set up for the last rites, attended by family members, relatives and department staff. Suman’s wife and two daughters, deeply grief-stricken, were seen standing motionless near his body.
The final procession took place, with the last rites conducted near the Krishna River. Interestingly Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences on social media, honoring Suman’s contribution to forest conservation. The officer is known for his tireless efforts in environmental conservation, particularly in forest preservation, Suman had dedicated much of his career to restoring degraded forests.
