All the 12 TDP MLAs were suspended by AP Legislative Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram on the second day of the budget session on Wednesday. The Speaker expressed ire at the TDP MLAs for their comments insulting AP Governor S Abdul Naseer on the first day of the session. The Speaker made it clear that anything against the Governor would be treated seriously.
It can be recalled that TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav and other MLAs boycotted the Governor’s speech half way and left the House during the speech on Tuesday. Later, Keshav spoke to media persons and said that the Governor had to wait for CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the green room which was against the protocol and an insult to the first citizen of the State. The same was published in a TDP-supported vernacular.
“In fact, nothing has happened against the Governor’s protocol, but as per his wish to attend a nature call,” said the Speaker.
On Wednesday, the Speaker took up the issue seriously and suspended all the 12 TDP MLAs, who were present in the assembly hall for one day while Keshav and Nimmala Ramanaidu were suspended for the rest of the budget session.
Initially, the Speaker announced the suspension of Payyavula Keshav and Ramanaidu for the rest of the budget session, but the other TDP leaders barged into the Speaker’s podium forcing the Speaker to suspend all the TDP leaders.
The Speaker said that the video of TDP MLA Keshav would be played before the privilege committee and stern action would be taken against the TDP MLA for spreading false propaganda against the State government and the Governor.
