All efforts to bring back Telugus from Sudan: APNRTS

To evacuate the Indians stranded in Sudan, Operation Kaveri was initiated to bring them back to India by IAF planes and Indian Navy ships.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is closely monitoring the situation in Sudan and is offering support to the distressed Telugus of AP through APNRTS 24/7 Helpline as well. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed the concerned officials to make travel arrangements at the Delhi and Mumbai international airports for the incoming distressed Telugu migrants of AP from Sudan to go to their homes in AP. As per the latest update available, 58 stranded Telugus from Andhra Pradesh will reach India shortly and their repatriation status is

Our of 34 members reached Port of Sudan (from these, out of two reached Jeddah, one person is arriving at Delhi tonight at 9pm, with Embassy consent employers are making arrangements for travel to India for three persons and MEA is making further repatriation arrangements for 29 persons from Port of Sudan)

For the remaining 24 stranded persons, employers are making arrangements for 1 person and MEA is making necessary arrangements for 23 to reach the Port of Sudan and then to India most likely through Jeddah.

APNRTS reached out to Telugus in Sudan over phone and identified 58 members belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh so far. Ensured all the members are registered with the Indian Embassy in Sudan. APNRTS is sharing regular updates of the Government of India and the Embassy in Sudan via whatsapp group messaging.

APNRTS President Sri Venkat S. Medapati addressed an email to the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Sudan (Khartoum) on 23rd April requesting to know the status of AP Residents in Sudan along with requesting for their safe and early repatriation.

APNRTS is offering assistance to the stranded Telugu persons in Sudan at all times through APNRTS 24/7 Helpline: 0863 234 0678 and Whatsapp: 85000 27678 numbers

Further, in consultation with the Indian Mission and regular updates from MEA, Himanshu Sukla, Resident Commissioner, AP Bhavan in Delhi, APNRTS CEO P Hemalatha Rani and staff are coordinating for the safe return of Telugu people belonging to Andhra Pradesh

As per the directives of Chief Minister Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, officials of the State are also coordinating with the MEA and are arranging free transportation facilities to the arriving individuals at Delhi and Mumbai airports to their home towns in AP.
