The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made extensive arrangements for the numerous devotees expected to visit Tirumala during the annual Brahmotsavams, scheduled to commence from October 4, said TTD Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao.
Speaking to media personnel at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Thursday, the EO, along with TTD Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdhary, stated that on the first day, October 4, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will present Pattu Vastrams to the Srivari temple on behalf of the state government and will have darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. After the Vedaseervachanam at Ranganayakula Mandapam, he will release the 2025 TTD Calendars and Diaries, followed by participation in the Peddasesha Vahana Seva.
On October 5, the CM will inaugurate a newly constructed modern kitchen behind the Panchajanyam Rest House, built at a cost of ?13.45 crore, equipped with modern kitchen gadgets and facilities to enhance the Annaprasadam activities in Tirumala, keeping the interests of visiting pilgrims in mind.
Elaborating on the departmental arrangements, the EO said that in light of the annual Brahmotsavams from October 4 to 12, TTD has cancelled all arjita sevas, anga pradakshina, and VIP breaks (except for protocol, which will also be cancelled on October 8 due to Garuda Seva). Privileged darshans for parents with infants, senior citizens, and physically challenged individuals have also been suspended.
“We are maintaining a buffer stock of 7 lakh laddus to meet the demand of the pilgrims. Accommodation in Tirumala, including rest houses and PACs, can accommodate nearly 45,000 pilgrims,” he added. With an estimated 3.5 lakh pilgrims anticipated for Garuda Seva on October 8, all necessary arrangements have been made. The galleries along the four mada streets have been spruced up to accommodate nearly 2 lakh pilgrims.
To facilitate the movement of pilgrims, 3,000 round trips have been planned using over 400 APSRTC buses on Garuda Seva day, with 2,000 trips scheduled for other days.
The portions of Annaprasadam have been increased from 1.75 lakh last year to 2 lakh this year on Garuda Seva day. Similarly, the number of drinking water points has also been increased, with an additional 600 sanitary workers deployed. Last year, 8 supervisory staff members were deployed; this year, the number has been increased to 49 for better sanitation management.
In addition to the existing five information counters, five more have been set up at Rambhagicha, Ramastupam, PAC2, opposite RTC Bus Stand, and SV Museum to provide necessary information to the public.
A total of 28 LED screens have been placed at various locations in Tirumala, with 23 situated along the four mada streets. While they functioned for only three days last year, this year they will remain operational throughout the entire Brahmotsavams.
Security has been strengthened, with 1,250 TTD police personnel and around 3,900 police officers deployed, along with an additional 1,100 police officers on Garuda Seva day.
To offer better services to pilgrims, this year TTD has invited 4,000 Srivari Sevaks, an increase from 3,000 last year. Medical facilities for pilgrims have also been enhanced this year.
Parking arrangements have been made for 9,000 vehicles in Tirumala and 6,000 vehicles in Tirupati.
On the day of Garuda Seva, the ghat roads will be open 24/7, while the movement of two-wheelers will be restricted from 9 PM on October 7 until 6 AM on October 9.
Last year, artistes from 12 states showcased their art forms during the Vahana Sevas, while this year 21 states have been approached, with 19 confirming participation so far.
JEOs Goutami, Veerabrahmam, CVSO Sridhar, CE Satyanarayana, Temple DyEO Lokanatham, and others were present at the meeting.
