Former chief minister and YSRCP president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, held a meeting with ZPTCs and party leaders from West Godavari and Eluru districts, where he criticised the TDP coalition government for failing to introduce the annual budget even after four months in power. He claimed the delay was to avoid public backlash over allocations for various schemes.
During the meeting at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, YS Jagan accused the TDP government of using a temporary budget to escape public scrutiny, stating that a full budget would have forced them to disclose the allocations for various programmes. He contrasted this with his time in power, when, despite challenges like COVID-19 and a reduced state income, the YSRCP government fulfilled every promise made in its manifesto. He also highlighted the introduction of a welfare calendar before the budget, which laid out the schedule and implementation of different programmes.
YS Jagan criticised the TDP for failing to deliver on their promises and noted that the public was now discussing the difference between the YSRCP and TDP governments. He emphasised that people were increasingly frustrated with Chandrababu Naidu’s unfulfilled commitments, particularly in education schemes like ‘Vidya Deevena’ and ‘Vasathi Deevena’, as well as the worsening healthcare system in the state.
He expressed concern over the rise of illegal activities like gambling and the proliferation of liquor shops under the current administration. YS Jagan also mentioned the government’s failure to pay 104 and 108 employees on time and the collapse of essential services in healthcare, including pending payments under the ‘Aarogyasri’ scheme.
Urging the cadre to stand firm with the people, YS Jagan called on them to continue fighting against the injustices of the TDP government. He reassured them not to fear legal cases, recalling his own time in jail and the unwavering support he received from the public.
Praising the unity and dedication of the ZPTCs in West Godavari, he assured them that the party would continue to support them in facing political challenges.
He encouraged them to keep fighting for the people and expressed confidence that the YSRCP would lead the next government.
