All set for R-Day fete

Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium is all set for the 75th Republic Day celebrations. March-past troops conducted a full dress rehearsal on Thursday. Governor SA Nazeer will be hoisting the national flag on Friday and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.
Chief Minister’s Programmes Coordinator and MLC Talasila Raghu Ram, Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain, Protocol Director M Bala Subrahmanyam Reddy, APSP Battalion Additional Director General B Shankabratha Bagchi, NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao, Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata, and Municipal Commissioner Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar inspected the arrangements at the IGMC stadium on Thursday. The Collector gave instructions to the officials for the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Kanthi Rana supervised the security arrangements. He said that around 1,600 police officers and staff would be using them for security and bandobast. He instructed them to take the necessary steps for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
