Allegations of Centre discriminating against South India laughable: Sanjay

Must read

The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, said that defaming the Centre by saying that it is not providing funds to Telangana is like spitting at the sun. He clarified that the Centre has not formulated guidelines or made any decisions regarding delimitation.
He said that allegations of the Centre discriminating against South India were laughable. He criticised the ruling parties of Tamil Nadu (DMK), Karnataka and Telangana (Congress), stating that their governments are in a hopeless condition. He accused them of raking up ‘non-issues’ to defame the Centre.
Regarding the suspension of BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy from the Assembly, Sanjay said that it was part of a drama orchestrated by the Congress and the BRS. He said the victory of the BJP in the MLC elections has left these two parties clueless.
He said the Congress has given the BRS another weapon by suspending Jagadish.

Sanjay was addressing a press conference in Karimnagar on Saturday along with former MLA Bodige Shobha, BJP district president Gangadi Krishna Reddy, former mayor Sunil Rao and Parliament convenor Boyinipally Praveen Rao.
When the media raised Raja Singh’s remarks, Sanjay responded, “I haven’t heard them, but secret meetings are going on between the BRS and the Congress. These two parties are working together to defame the BJP.”
Responding to allegations that the Centre has not provided funds to Telangana, he said, “First, let the state government answer what it has done for the people. It has not provided financial assistance to farmers, failed to implement loan waivers, hasn’t given DA to employees, isn’t clearing medical bills and retirement benefits, hasn’t provided unemployment benefits, and hasn’t even fulfilled the promise of ?4,000 pensions for the elderly. The state government has also failed to pay contractors and settle the pending bills for former sarpanches. It hasn’t reimbursed college fees. The Centre has sanctioned Smart City funds, but the state hasn’t contributed its share. The Centre has allocated funds for many schemes, but the state isn’t providing matching grants.”

Asked about the Miss World event in Hyderabad, he stated, “Hyderabad and Telangana have become hubs of the drug trade. But no action is being taken. Instead, they are spending hundreds of crores on Miss World and Tablighi Jamaat meetings. Do such events enhance Hyderabad’s brand image? Why hasn’t KCR been arrested despite being involved in phone tapping? If they have the guts, let them hand over the phone tapping and drug cases to the CBI,” he said.
