Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath has slammed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for boasting of bringing investments to Andhra Pradesh to the tune of Rs 16 lakh crore and ended up getting just Rs 34,000 crore which is just 2 per cent. The Minister alleged that the Opposition and the TDP-supported media are spreading false propaganda on investments of around Rs 24,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh.

The Minister, after the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, told media persons that the State is progressing industrially. “In the cabinet meeting, we have taken important decisions by giving permission to many projects. We discussed in the Cabinet the projects related to investments of around Rs 24,000 crore that were given a green signal. The Kadapa Steel Plant, which is a long-time wish of the people of Rayalaseema, is going to be a reality,” he said.

Amarnath said that if Chandrababu Naidu has the guts, he should come for an open discussion on the partnership summits held in the last five years and the agreements made with industrialists during the TDP regime.

He said that the long wish of Rayalaseema people is turning to be reality as JSW company is going to set up a steel plant in YSR district with an investment of Rs 8800 crore in two phases and by providing employment to 6,000 people directly and indirectly.

The Minister slammed Ramoji Rao for his article with false propaganda on SIPB green signal for industrial investments in the State.

He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has the habit of sacrificing people’s lives for his political interests. That is why Amararaja company in Chittoor district continues to blame the government regardless of how much harm is being done to the environment and the lives of the people there.
