Minister for Irrigation Ambati Rambabu Ambati Rambabu defended the firing in the air by the Circle Inspector in Vinukonda on Thursday to disperse the clashing mobs.
“If the CI had not fired in the air, the situation would have been worse. I strongly condemn the TDP activists’ violent behavior and attempt to attack MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu,” Ambati Rambabu said. He also alleged that the Telugu Desam leaders are resorting to violence acts unable to face Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahamanaidu.
Addressing a press conference flanked by Bolla Brhamanaidu here on Friday, the minister referring to the violence incidents which took place in Vinukonda on Thursday, he said that realising that Brahmanaidu would win in the next election also, the TDP leaders are indulging such violence acts, he slammed. Ambati Rambabu condemned the TDP activists attack on MLA Brahmanaidu’s car when he was going to attend Jagananna Suraksha programme.
A section of the media disseminated distorted news on the Vinukonda violence, he charged. Cases were registered against the TDP ex-MLA GV Anjaneyulu for trespassing in the MLA Brahamanaidu’s dairy form, he stated.
Referring to the Polavaram project construction, he said that the project was a national project but the then TDP government had taken the responsibility from the Centre for the construction of the project. The unwise decision taken by the then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu put the Polavaram project in an embarrassing situation, he regretted. He expressed confidence of coming to power in the next election.
