‘Ambedkar Smritivanam’ works at brisk pace: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister and Endowments Minister, Kottu Satyanarayana, highlighted the commitment of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to uplift underprivileged communities, aligning with the vision of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Deputy CM, accompanied by Minister for Social Welfare Merugu Nagarjuna, District Collector S. Dilli Rao, and other officials, conducted an inspection of the ongoing works at the BR Ambedkar’s 125-feet statue and memorial on Monday morning.
Following the inspection, Minister Satyanarayana addressed the media, emphasising Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s dedication to eliminating social disparities in line with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideologies. He underscored the state’s efforts towards realising the concept of Grama Swarajyam envisioned by Mahatma Gandhi. Notably, the central location of Dr. Ambedkar’s statue in the heart of Vijayawada City reflects the profound respect accorded to the legacy of B.R. Ambedkar. Minister Satyanarayana shared that meticulous arrangements are underway to ensure the current generation comprehends the significance of Dr. Ambedkar’s life, with plans for its transmission to future generations. He confirmed that the unveiling ceremony would be organized upon the completion of the memorial museum, memorial hall, and library.
Minister for Social Welfare Merugu Nagarjuna echoed the sentiment, stating that the construction of the statue and Smritivanam on an expansive 70-acre land, involving an expenditure of Rs 400 crore, embodies the aspirations of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for social equilibrium and revolutionary ideals.
Nagarjuna expressed confidence that the final stages of the project would be completed soon, culminating in a grand inauguration ceremony. He commended the Chief Minister for providing valuable guidance and suggestions throughout the endeavor. Additionally, Nagarjuna acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the District Collector and Commissioner in enhancing the premises.
