AMRIT BHARAT STATION SCHEME PM to lay foundation for 13 railway stations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to mark a significant milestone by laying the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 13 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the dedication of 10 RuBs (Road Under Bridges) over the Guntur Railway division on February 26.
During a press briefing held in Guntur on Friday, M. Ramakrishna, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Guntur railway division, emphasised the rapid strides Indian Railways is taking towards modernisation, in tune with the vision of a New India set forth by the Government of India. He highlighted that in the initial phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for the development of 508 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme nationwide on August 6, 2023, including three stations in Andhra Pradesh: Piduguralla, Repalle, and Donakonda in the Guntur Division. Ramakrishna detailed the upcoming second phase, where PM Modi is slated to lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 554 railway stations under the Amrit Station Scheme and dedicate or lay foundation stones for approximately 1,500 Road Under Bridges/Road Over Bridges across Indian Railways on February 26, 2024, via video conference. This year’s budget has allocated a record amount of Rs. 9,138 crores for Andhra Pradesh, with plans to develop 40 stations into world-class railway stations. Within the Guntur Division, encompassing areas of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, 13 stations (11 in Andhra Pradesh and 2 in Telangana) are earmarked for foundation laying.
