In a swift action, YSRC president and AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took a decision to keep Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy aside from the party activities. Anam is the second MLA to be kept aside for anti-party activities.

Party senior leader Nedurumilli Ramakumar Reddy was named as the Venkatagiri constituency incharge, keeping aside Ramanarayana Reddy. Earlier, it was Undavalli Sridevi of Tadikonda Assembly constituency in Guntur district who was kept aside, and she was replaced by former minister and MLC Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao. Anam Ramanarayana Reddy had been criticising the government on public platforms for some time now.

Last week, he said that the party would not win the elections by just distributing pensions. Once again on Tuesday, he said that the party had no chance of winning the 2024 general election, as the government had failed to develop the state. The YSRC social media activists have been saying that Anam Ramanarayana Reddy had become another Raghurama Krishnam Raju in the party. Following the latest remarks of the former minister and the MLA, the Chief Minister had taken the decision to name Ramakumar Reddy as the Venkatagiri constituency incharge. It is said that the former minister is likely to join the TDP.
