Advisor to the Government (Public Affairs), Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has raised concerns over the politicisation of the Anganwadi workers’ strike, accusing certain political parties of exacerbating the situation. Addressing the media on Monday in Vijayawada, Sajjala urged Anganwadi workers to end their strike and resume their duties.
He cautioned them against falling victim to the political agendas of certain parties, stating, “The government has engaged in negotiations with Anganwadi unions at various levels. Despite our efforts, they have not responded positively.”
Highlighting the alleged involvement of political parties in supporting the strike, Sajjala stated, “We have evidence, including audio recordings shared on WhatsApp groups, provding that some political leaders are inciting the Anganwadi workers.”
Expressing concern for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children affected by the strike, Sajjala remarked, “Due to the Anganwadi workers’ strike, essential services such as providing nutritious food are disrupted.”
