Excise Minister Dr V Srinivas Goud has said a job mela is being organised to recruit staff for deployment in IT Tower here as part of his exercise to ensure the local youth find jobs locally.
The word Palamuru/Mahabubnagar once reminds one of illiteracy and poverty. However, in the new state of Telangana, the district has become care of address for employment. He was participating as the chief guest for the mega job mela held at Shilparamam here on Wednesday. In all, 650 local youth would be helped secure jobs through the mela. The proposed job mela to be held here on Sept 2 would offer placements to at least 10,000, he added.
The world Palamuru was synonymous with labourers. Where there is construction activity, the labourers from the district used to be deployed there, he remarked. The district was once characterised by hunger deaths and several regions were par below the development. The situation was atrocious then, he said going nostalgic about the characteristics of the district.
The Shilparamam area, which is beautifully bedecked now, and Pedda Cheruvu tank were full of garbage in those days. One cannot afford to set his or her foot in the area, he said.
The city used to get its drinking water supply once in 14 days. Overcoming all these hurdles, he said that the government has put the district on the high road to development, he said. An IT corridor has been set up near Divitipalli to provide jobs to local youth, he said. First and foremost, the youth of the district would get priority in getting placements, he remarked.
On September 2, a mega job mela would be conducted with the participation of over 100 companies to recruit 10,000 persons, he said, adding that those who could not get jobs in today’s job mela would find another opportunity to get jobs on September 2.
The largest-ever Energy Park would be set up in IT Tower at Mahabubnagar. The Amar Raja Lithium Giga Cell industry would help 10,000 locals get jobs in the unit, he said appealing to the youth to take up private jobs without clamouring for government jobs.
Once two per cent of the population would be able to get government jobs, he said adding that Mahabubnagar district is developing industrially and from tourism perspective.
The largest ever urban eco park has been set up here in 2097 acres. A jungle safari wouldbe introduced in 26,000 acres. A food park is on the anvil in Hanwada and a wonder amusement park is going to be set up on the premises of Shilparamam.
