Minister for Water Resources Development Nimmala Ramanaidu praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh for effectively promoting Andhra Pradesh’s brand image at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit in Davos.
Speaking to the media in Palakollu on Monday, Ramanaidu commended Chandrababu Naidu for attracting significant investments to the state during the summit. He noted that several multinational companies (MNCs) had shown keen interest in establishing their units in Andhra Pradesh.
“Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assured investors of providing all the necessary infrastructure for setting up industries in the state. Satisfied with his assurances, many MNCs are now making efforts to establish their units here. The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s abundant resources and invited industrialists to explore the state,” Ramanaidu said.
Criticising the previous government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Minister alleged that several major companies, including Lulu, Jacky, Amara Raja, and KIA, moved to neighbouring states due to poor policies and mismanagement.
“The industrialists who are now willing to invest in Andhra Pradesh are questioning whether there is any guarantee that Jagan Mohan Reddy will not return to power in the future. This reflects how the previous regime discouraged investors,” Ramanaidu remarked.
The Minister emphasised that industrial development is crucial for employment generation. He also described Nara Lokesh’s padayatra as historic, stating that it reshaped the state’s political landscape in 2024. Ramanaidu recalled that Lokesh undertook a 226-day-long padayatra covering 3,132 km, which marked its second anniversary on Monday.
