AP govt fills key posts of boards, corpns

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a fresh round of appointments to several key nominated posts across various boards, development authorities, and welfare corporations. The appointments reflect the ruling Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) efforts to accommodate not only its members but also those from allied parties and civil society groups, including the Jana Sena Party (JSP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Amaravati Joint Action Committee (JAC).

Among those appointed are Dr Z Shiva Prasad from Nellore City to the AP Inland Waterways Authority Board and S Rajashekar from Kuppam to the AP Education & Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation. Former MLA Sugunamma from Tirupati has been nominated to the AP Greening & Beautification Corporation, while Venkata Sivudu Yadav from Guntakal will serve on the AP Labour Welfare Board.

Valavala Babji from Tadepalligudem has been appointed to the AP Buildings & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, and Burugupalli Sesha Rao from Nidadavolu to the AP Skill Development Corporation. Pithala Sujatha from Bhimavaram will head the AP Women’s Cooperative Finance Corporation. Divakar Reddy of Tirupati has been placed in the Tirupati Urban Development Authority, and Vani Venkata Shiva Prasad Pennuboyina from Eluru in the Eluru Urban Development Authority.

Dr Ravi Vemuru of Tenali will lead the AP Non-Resident Telugu Society, while Malepati Subba Naidu from Kavali has been appointed to the AP Agro Industries Development Corporation Ltd. KS Jawahar, representing Kovvur (SC), will chair the AP State SC Commission. The AP Fishermen Cooperative Societies Federation will be headed by Peddiraju Kollu from Narasapuram.

Perepi Eeshwar of Vijayawada East has been selected for the AP Kummari Shalivahana Welfare & Development Corporation, and Mallela Eshwara Rao from Guntur West for the AP Vaddera Welfare & Development Corporation. Akasapu Swamy from Tadepalligudem will serve in the AP Tailors Development Cooperative Federation.

From the Jana Sena Party, Leelakrishna of Mandapeta has been appointed to the AP Irrigation Development Cooperative Corporation (APSIDC), Riyaz from Ongole to the AP Livestock Development Agency, and Dr Pasupuleti Hari Prasad of Tirupati to the AP Handicrafts Development Corporation.

From the BJP, S Bojji Reddy from Rampachodavaram will head the AP Scheduled Tribes Commission. Dr Rayapati Sailaja, representing the Amaravati JAC has been appointed to the AP Women’s Commission, and Alapati Suresh, also from the Amaravati JAC, will lead the AP Press Academy.

These appointments signal the government’s attempt to ensure broad-based political participation and to bring diverse voices into institutional governance.
