In a move that is likely to put TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu in the dock following the show-cause notice issued to him by the Income Tax Department over the alleged unaccounted-for money. The Andhra Pradesh CID has initiated an investigation into the issue.

Naidu stands accused of purportedly accepting substantial kickbacks amounting to Rs 118 crore from certain infrastructure companies, subsequently channeling public funds through fraudulent contracts. In light of the emerging connection between the Income Tax scam and the Skill Development Corporation scam, the Andhra Pradesh CID has served notices to Manoj Vasudev Pardasanny and Yogesh Gupta, both of whom play pivotal roles in these respective cases.

The Income Tax Department initiated this action by dispatching notices to Naidu after conducting raids on the premises of Manoj Vasudev Pardasany (referred to as MVP in the notice), who serves as a representative of Shapoorji Pallonji. It has been reported that funds were diverted from projects, such as TIDCO houses allocated to Shapoorji Pallonji, to Naidu.

The CID is now working on the leads that could establish a potential common origin for both I-T and APSSDC scams. Given that the money trail extends to Dubai, the investigating agency intends to dispatch a team to the UAE to broaden its probe into the matter.
