Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee-Amaravati (APJAC-Amaravati), Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, has urged the State government to announce Interim Relief (IR) for all government employees, as promised by the TDP-led NDA Coalition during the elections. He also called for the appointment of a new Chairman for the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC), following the resignation of the previous chairman.
The APJAC-Amaravati State Secretariat meeting took place at the Revenue Bhavan in Governorpet, Vijayawada, on Sunday. During the meeting, leaders discussed the IR, the appointment of the new 12th PRC Chairman, and various employee-related matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Bopparaju Venkateswarlu noted that employees and pensioners had lost all the benefits accrued from the 11th PRC under the previous government. He stated that employees were hopeful for support from the TDP-led NDA government and expected the fulfilment of all assurances made during the election campaign. He urged the government to promptly address both financial and non-financial issues.
Furthermore, he mentioned that significant festivals like Dasara and Diwali had passed without any action, despite the NDA government having completed its five-month term. Employees are eagerly awaiting an announcement from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he added. He also expressed satisfaction with the timely payment of salaries on the first of every month.
In addition, representations regarding 18 pending issues have been submitted to the Chief Minister’s Secretary and the Finance Secretary. He expressed hope that the state government would make a favourable decision regarding these outstanding matters. APJAC-Amaravati secretary general Palisetti Damodara Rao, Associate Chairman TV Phaniperraju, treasurer K. Sangeetha Rao, and other members were present at the meeting.
