District Collector K Vetri Selvi inspected the arrangements for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to the Polavaram project on March 27.
Accompanied by Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy and other officials, the Collector visited the project site and assessed the preparations.
Later, she held a review meeting with officials and engineers. She emphasized the need for elaborate arrangements, as the Chief Minister would inspect key components of the project, including the diaphragm wall, upper and lower cofferdams, gap 1 and gap 2, and vibro compression.
The Chief Minister will also hold a review meeting on the progress of the works. The Collector directed that a photo exhibition showcasing the project’s progress be set up.
She instructed district-level officers to act as nodal officers to oversee arrangements and ordered the police to ensure strict security. Special arrangements should be made for legislators and dignitaries accompanying the Chief Minister, she added.
Given the intense summer, medical camps should be set up at all locations the Chief Minister will visit, with ORS packets and medicines for sunstroke prevention readily available, she said.
Earlier, the Collector inspected ongoing works at the diaphragm wall, upper and lower cofferdams, gap 1, gap 2, and vibro compression.
Joint Collector Dhatri Reddy, ITDA Project Officer Ramulu Nayak, Additional SP Nakka Suryachandra Rao, RDO Ramana, Polavaram Project Superintending Engineer Reddy Rama chandra Rao, and DE D Srinivas were present.
