‘Be vigilant: CM to officials

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review meeting on Saturday with the Disaster Management Department, District Collectors, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), and Real-Time Governance (RTG) officials to assess preparedness for Cyclone Fengal. He emphasised the need for government machinery to remain vigilant and responsive at all levels.
The Chief Minister called for real-time monitoring of the cyclone’s developments using RTG tools and directed officials to take immediate steps based on evolving situations. He stressed proactive measures to mitigate risks, including timely alerts to keep the public informed. He also suggested forming WhatsApp groups for better coordination across administrative levels.
Anticipating potential flash floods, the CM instructed district authorities to keep disaster response teams on standby and ensure swift action during emergencies.
 He urged all departments to implement precautionary measures to minimise loss of life and property.
District Collectors were directed to prepare detailed relief and rehabilitation plans, with particular attention to the concerns of paddy farmers. The CM highlighted the importance of providing farmers with accurate and timely updates to help them safeguard their crops. Reiterating the government’s commitment to public safety, the CM called for a coordinated effort to effectively address the challenges posed by the cyclone.
