Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary and Karimnagar Lok Sabha member Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday called upon the party workers to “beat with chappals” anyone who talked about an alliance between the BJP and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
“Don’t spare even the leaders who repeatedly give leaks to the media saying the BRS would forge an alliance with the BJP,” Sanjay said, while launching the Vijay Sankalp Yatra of the Telangana BJP, along with Union minister B L Varma, MLA Katepalli Venkata Ramana Reddy, MLC A V N Reddy and others at Tandur.
Giving a stern warning to the leaders who were spreading a false campaign on the BJP-BRS alliance, the BJP national general secretary said no sane party would have a pact with a sinking ship like the BRS. “Who cares whether BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao goes to Delhi or Pakistan? He may be going to Delhi to consume Scotch Whiskey. He is a dangerous fellow and can stoop to any level,” he said.
He said even if any BJP leader said there would be an alliance with the BRS, the BJP workers would hound that leader and rough him up. “They are so agitated and angry with the BRS,” he said.
Sanjay said the fact of the matter was that the Congress and the BRS were hand in glove with each other and they had enacted a big drama on Kaleshwaram and Krishna water issues. “Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has alleged that KCR had resorted to massive corruption in Kaleshwaram project construction. The CAG and Vigilance department pointed out massive irregularities in the project. Why is the Congress not arresting KCR and his gang and attaching their properties?” he asked.
Similarly, the BRS had not been questioning the Congress which had failed to implement its pre-election promises.
Sanjay regretted that there had been a debate all over the country why the people of Telangana had voted for the Congress, while it was the BJP which had fought tooth and nail against the BRS government.
“We don’t want votes from those who love Aurangzeb, Babur, Akbar. If you want Ram Mandir, then vote for Modi and BJP. If you again want Babri Masjid, then vote for the Congress. On our side, we have Ram and Modi, the other side has demons like Rahul Gandhi, KCR,” Bandi Sanjay said
