Beautification works underway in Eluru city: DC

District Collector K Vetri Selvi has said that beautification works are being carried out in Eluru city and called upon people to participate in the process and extend cooperation.
District Collector, accompanied by SP K Pratap Siva Kishore, Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy and MLA Badeti Radhakrishnaiah, participated in the road divider beautification works here on Sunday. The road divider beautification works were carried out as part of the city’s beautification. The road divider from the Fire Station centre to the ZP office was beautified today.
On the occasion, Collector K Vetri Selvi said that everyone should be a partner in the development and beautification of Eluru city with the social consciousness that it is their city. She said that the programmes to make Helapuri city clean and beautiful will continue. She appealed to the people not to spoil the beauty of the city with posters and other writings on walls, road dividers and other places. She revealed that special activities would be implemented for the beautification and development of Eluru.
Eluru MLA Radha Krishnaiah called upon people to be a part of the programme to make the city a beautiful city. The onus of making Eluru city beautiful lies on all, he noted, adding that the businessmen and the residents of the city should work hard to keep the city clean and pleasant. The MLA warned of imposing a fine if wall posters are pasted on walls. The same is repeated in the second case.  
SP KPS Kishore expressed happiness for participating in the city beautification works and emphasized the need to maintain hygiene and tidy conditions across the city. He called upon people to keep the surroundings clean and beautiful. The SP said that Eluru city should be number one in the country in the Swachh Bharat campaign organized by the Prime Minister and that the police would continue to provide full support and cooperation in such programs.
Joint Collector Dhatri Reddy appealed to the people to work together to make Eluru City an example for the country in sanitation management and garbage collection.
“The Government is spending lakhs of rupees on city beautification work and making it attractive. Unfortunately, many people are spoiling the beauty of the city with unauthorized hoardings, flexi and digital banners. The municipal corporation and police will take action against those who are involved in such actions as per the 1997 Act and those who obstruct the city beautification,” the
Joint Collector made it clear. DSP D Shravan Kumar was among those who took part in the programme.
