An attempt to murder was allegedly made on Medak Church Bishop A C Salmon Raju on Sunday evening.
The Bishop told the media that some church members only made an attempt on his life. He apprehended danger to his life. He further said that he had extended his support to a faction in the election to the church committee. His opponents had made an attempt on his life, he alleged. The elections to the church committee were held on October 1.
The Bishop said that around 30 persons armed with knives laid siege to his vehicle in an attempt to murder him. His supporters came to his rescue when he raised the alarm and thus he was saved. He said he would lodge a complaint with the District Superintendent of Police, he said.
