BJP activists led by district president Vanama Narendra Kumar organized a dharna in protest against the humiliation of Vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar in Rajya Sabha by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.
The BJP activists, holding placards and flags, raised slogans against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at Himani centre in front of the Gandhi statue here on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Narendra Kumar regretted that Rahul Gandhi insulted Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. Rajya Sabha chairman who is in the constitutional post and ridiculing him is objectionable and condemnable, he stated.
“We demand the Centre to take a stringent action against Rahul Gandhi considering his act anti-nation to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future,” the BJP leader said.
Vanama Narendra Kumar demanded Rahul Gandhi to tender an unconditional apology for his act against RS chairman. He also objected to the opposition parties extending support to Rahul Gandhi.
Parliament Samyojak Bhimaneni Chandrasekhar, district general secretaries Ch Kumar Goud, Ch Tirupati Rao, vice president Padmanabham and state general secretary Avula Nagendra Yadav were among those who took part in the programme.
