The BJP and the Congress engaged in a war of words on Saturday regarding BJP MLA Eatala Rajender’s comment that the Congress took Rs 25 crore during the Munugode by-poll from KCR.
The TPCC’s official spokesperson, Addanki Dayakar, said that the fear among BJP leaders is discernible as the Congress is gaining ground.
Addanki said Eatala Rajender held talks with Revanth to join the Congress, but finally joined the BJP to protect his businesses.
Another TPCC spokesperson said that Eatala was levelling allegations against the Congress thinking that he will get a big post in the BJP.
Former MLA Earavatri Anil said that Eatala joined the BJP as part of an agreement between KCR and Eatala. Both KCR and Eatala have a good understanding and so KCR fielded a weak candidate in the Huzurabad by-poll, he added.
Condemning Eatala’s allegations, the Congress candidate in the Munugode by-poll, Palvai Sravanthi, said that Eatala has been making such comments as nobody is joining the BJP from other parties. One can assume that Eatala’s mental condition is not good if he fails to come to the Bhagyalaxmi Temple, she said.
Senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali said that Eatala changes political parties like a chameleon.
Meanwhile, BJP Vice-President DK Aruna asked Revanth whether he will take an oath at the Bhagyalakshmi Temple stating that he had no connection with the ‘Vote For Note’ case. “Why didn’t Revanth respond seriously when Eatala spoke the truth,” she said.
Eatala said that he did not speak targeting anyone personally. “I spoke for the sake of dharma. I am not a person who will speak about anyone in an insulting manner,” he said.
BJP National Executive Committee Member Vijayashanthi said that it is not proper for Eatala and Revanth to criticise each other. It is time for the two leaders to fight KCR in their own ways otherwise the gainer will be the BRS, she said in her Twitter post.
