BJP, Congress support JPS strike, warn Govt of direct action

Must read

The BJP and the Congress have supported the strike by Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS). Both parties have made it clear to the government that they will launch direct movements extending support to the JPS strike if the government fails to meet the demands of JPS.

Sanjay gave a call to B JP cadres asking them support the JPS. He asked the BJP’s district presidents, in-charges, Assembly conveners and co-conveners to stand by the striking Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS).

Sanjay asked district presidents, in-charges, Assembly conveners and co-conveners to go to the houses of JPS and extend solidarity to them.

He asked them to get ready for a direct protest on behalf of the JPS and to prepare an action plan to make other employees extend support to the JPS. He also called upon them to make the Sangareddy ‘Nirudyoga March’ being held on May 11 a success. He said that he is organising the Hindu Ekta Yatra in Karimnagar on May 14 in a grand manner.

Participating in a teleconference with B JP district presidents, in-charges, Assembly conveners and co-conveners on Tuesday, Sanjay asked them to support the strike by JPS as their demands are justifiable.

He said that the JPS have been on strike for the last 12 days. The BRS government has been deceiving them without regularising their services even though they were selected through exams conducted by the government.

Sanjay alleged that the government has been threatening the JPS saying that they will file cases and send them to jail.

Revanth also sent a letter to KCR demanding that the government regularise JPS.

TPCC chief Revanth Reddy also send an open letter to KCR demanding to regularize the services of Junior Panchayat Secretaries. He said that the condition of Junior Panchayat Secretaries has become worse than slaves. The government is showing complete negligence in protecting their rights.

He said that Telangana panchayats are ideal ones and that is why the Central Government is giving them awards. He said that they should not forget that 79 awards were given to Gram Panchayats in the state due to the hard work of JPS. If they do this it is not right to trouble them by not regularising their services, he said.

He demanded that Panchayat secretaries should be regularised immediately. Otherwise, he made it clear that the Congress will support their struggle and will prepare for direct action on their behalf.

Former TPCC general secretary Bakka Judson filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRS) alleging that the KCR government has been blackmailing JPS, who were on strike from April 28.

He appealed to the NHRS to intervene and make the government meet the demands of JPS.

Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy asked the government to stop threatening JPSs. People are ready to topple the BRS government and hence KCR has to concentrate on his own job.

He said that Panchayat Secretaries went on strike after serving a strike notice. B ut Panchayatraj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has been speaking like a slave master instead of a Minister by saying that the JPSs have no right to strike. He asked the government to regularise the JPS and implement a pay scale for them.a
