‘BJP fails to learn from crushing defeat in Karnataka’

Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy expressed the hope that BRS will score a hattrick

The BJP has not learnt from the curshing defeat in Karnata Assembly elections, said Telangana State Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy on Tuesday. He also criticised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s remarks against the State government.

Speaking at a media conference here, Sukender Reddy accused the BJP of “hatching a conspiracy to stoke up communal hatred out of its greed for power.” The BJP’s strategic plans did not work in Karnataka. The saffron party would bite the dust in Telangana too, he asserted.

After its resounding victory in Karnataka, the Congress leaders in Telangana were daydreaming about coming to power. All their hopes of coming to power in the State would come to nought. The people in Telangana would fall prey to the divisive politics of the BJP, he said.

Turning his attention to the Congress, Sunkender Reddy regretted that the grand old party was unable to elect a leader for the Chief Minister’s post even four days after securing an absolute majority in the elections. The Congress was caught in the quagmire of internal bickerings. The Congress has now been plunged into crisis in Rajasthan. The Congress leaders rebelled against their government and created political instability, he said.

“The people in Telangana have been supporting Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The people will remain with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS),” he said and added that KCR’s leadership only can ensure prosperity in the State.
