Following a two-day state-level meeting with BJP leaders on Thursday, Purandeswari addressed the media, emphasising the alliance with Jana Sena and their commitment to bolstering the party in Andhra Pradesh. She highlighted the ongoing efforts of AP BJP leaders in preparation for the upcoming general elections. A gathering of office bearers and top leaders took place at the party office in Vijayawada, where discussions included opinions on alliances and other pertinent issues for the upcoming general election.
During the meeting, the focus was on reinforcing the party in the state, in collaboration with alliance partners.
Purandeswari clarified that the party’s views on alliances would be conveyed to Delhi leadership, with the ultimate decision resting with them. The BJP state president expressed indifference to the merger decisions of YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila, stating that the primary alliance is with Jana Sena, and efforts will be directed toward strengthening that partnership.
Purandeshwari reported that discussions also covered plans to counter false propaganda against the BJP and to fight against the government’s failure to fulfil its promises. The party is formulating an action plan to establish a robust presence in Andhra Pradesh, including the inclusion of new leaders and the formation of an Election Manifesto Committee.
Addressing alliance decisions, BJP national secretary Satya Kumar emphasised that decisions would not be unilateral and called for responses from potential allies. He stressed the need for open discussions and dialogue among parties seeking alliances with the BJP, emphasizing that decisions should involve higher authorities.
Satya Kumar acknowledged the current weakness of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh and underscored the importance of strengthening the party in the region. Following the BJP functionaries’ meeting, Jana Sena PAC Chairman Nadendla Manohar met with BJP State president Purandeswari. The discussions involved key leaders from both parties, indicating a collaborative effort to solidify their political standing in the state.
