Naidu follows ‘use and throw’ policy: Kodali Nani

Must read

Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), former minister and MLA representing Gudivada, has raised concerns about TDP chief N Chandrababu’s alleged pattern of utilising leaders during elections and subsequently sidelining them.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Nani accused Chandrababu Naidu of treating BCs (Backward Classes) merely as a vote bank, contrasting this approach with the YSRCP, which he claimed has consistently prioritised BCs. He questioned Chandrababu about the number of Rajya Sabha seats allocated to BCs during his tenure as TDP leader.
Nani pointed out that, during Chandrababu’s leadership, not a single one of the 45 Rajya Sabha seats was allocated to BCs. In contrast, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy allotted four out of eight Rajya Sabha seats to BCs, along with appointing 17 BCs as MLCs. Additionally, Nani highlighted that more than half of the positions in various governmental bodies, including Corporations, Market Yards, Zilla Parishads, and Municipalities, have been offered to BCs.
In a direct challenge, Nani asked whether TDP could commit to providing more seats to BCs than YSRCP.
As the elections draw near, Nani accused Chandrababu of remembering BCs only for their votes, predicting that in 2024, BCs will see through this tactic. Nani criticized Chandrababu’s purported habit of using leaders during elections, only to abandon them afterwards and allocate seats to BCs in areas where they are less likely to win.
Nani emphasized that the YSRC party was founded on the hard work, dedication, and commitment of YS Jagan, and the victory of YSRCP MLAs is attributed to Jagan’s leadership. He defended the party’s internal decisions to shuffle candidates, stating that it is a strategy aimed at securing electoral success.
Referencing the 2019 elections, Nani questioned why Chandrababu did not field Ganji Chiranjeevi in Mangalagiri, highlighting this as evidence of Chandrababu’s historical neglect of BCs. Nani concluded by expressing scepticism about Chandrababu bringing an NRI from the United States to contest in Gudivada, predicting that the candidate would return after the elections, having lost, and emphasizing that such tactics would not resonate with the voters.
