On the concluding day of the 48-hour dharna, state BJP Vice-President NVSS Prabhakar warned that the party would launch an extensive protest if the KCR government fails to address the problems of the homeless poor by Wednesday.

Prabhakar who had launched a sit-in at Ramanthapur on August 18 demanding allotment of double-bedroom houses to the poor ended his dharna on Sunday morning which was attended by thousands of people including house applicants, BJP leaders and corporators.

On the concluding day of his dharna, Prabhakar said that there are 35,000 applicants who have been waiting for the allotment of double-bedroom houses in Uppal Assembly constituency. But the BRS government is allotting houses under the scheme to only BRS sympathisers and to those who are recommended by BRS leaders after taking money from beneficiaries, he said.

The BJP leader asked the government to consider each application genuinely and to provide houses for the homeless including the poor from minority groups.
He warned that if the government fails to respond to their demand in the next 48 hours, the BJP would launch an extensive protest on Wednesday.
