District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh directed the officials to blacklist the contractors who have not started the works. The Collector held a meeting with the officials of R&B and engineers to review the progress of the construction of houses in Jagananna layouts.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the tenders for the construction of 5 roads in the National Highways Department have been completed by the Department of Roads and Buildings and the contractors have to give the agreement within 7 days of giving the LO.
The Collector expressed his anger that the contractors have not completed the road works even though 45 days have been completed after giving the LO. The R and B officials have been directed to issue notices to the contractors immediately and keep the contractors who do not respond to the notices on the black list. He also directed the officials to take steps to expedite the works of priority roads.
The Collector ordered the officials to immediately complete the construction works of PHC buildings undertaken in Koyyalagudem, Ramanakkapet, Agiripalli, and Borrampalem. The Collector directed the officials to complete the construction of priority buildings immediately and to bring the completed buildings into use immediately.
Stating that those who work hard will be encouraged, he warned of taking stringent action against those who are indifferent to their work.
Collector Prasanna Venkatesh also warned that departmental action would be taken against the workers who were negligent in the construction of Jagananna houses. The government is giving priority to the construction of houses in the Jagananna colonies and the officials should lay special focus on completing the construction of houses in the colonies, he told the officials. Housing construction PO Vijaya Raju and DWMA PD Ramu were among those who attended the meeting.
