Body of missing worker found, Minister Kottu visits factory

The body of the worker, who went missing after a major fire accident in the 3F industry which took place on the night of Wednesday at Prathipadu village in Pentapadu mandal, was found Thursday.

Police on Thursday said that the body of missing worker Mallikharjuna Rao was found in the vicinity of the factory. Four workers were injured in the fire accident and they are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

Meanwhile, Minister for Endowments Kottu Satyanarayana and Collector P Prashanti visited the 3F industry on Thursday. They spoke with the factory management and knew the details of the accident.

The Minister and Collector inquired about the condition of the injured workers. The family members of Mallikharjuna Rao, who was killed in the mishap, staged a dharna at the factory demanding that justice be done to them.

The family members alleged that Mallikharjun Rao was killed because of the indifference of the management to implementing safety measures in the factory. The representatives of the factory management held negotiations with the family members of the deceased worker.

Ultimately, the management consented to extend Rs 50 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved family and a job to the wife of the deceased.

Bhimavaram RDO Dasiraju Seshagiri, 3F industry owner OP Goenka and others were present.
