Botsa hands over appointment orders to 1,543 KGBV teachers

At a special ceremony organised on Monday, Minister for Education Botsa Satyanarayana has distributed appointment orders to 1,543 Kasturba Gandhi Mahila Vidyalayam (KGBV) teachers.

Addressing the newly appointed teachers at an orientation programme held at Murali Resorts in Nidamanuru, the Minister emphasised their crucial role in shaping the future of their students and urged them to ensure excellent academic results.

As the chief guest of the event, Minister Botsa Satyanarayana also recognised the achievements of KGBV alumni by presenting them with mementos.

Minister Botsa Satyanarayana highlighted the significance of KGBV schools, which were established to provide educational opportunities to girls from marginalised communities. He expressed his pleasure at the substantial growth of KGBV, which has expanded from 53 schools with 6380 students to 352 schools with 98560 students in the state. The minister urged the teachers to strive for a 100% pass percentage in both Class 10 and Intermediate examinations.

Stressing the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment to promoting girls’ education and empowerment, Minister Botsa Satyanarayana emphasized the substantial investments made in educational development. The government has taken various initiatives such as the construction of dedicated girls’ toilets, provision of sanitary napkins for adolescent girls, and serving nutritious meals without anemia in every government school through the Manabadi Nadu-Nedu program.

Praveen Prakash, Principal Secretary of School Education, commended the State government’s historic efforts to improve education. He highlighted the exceptional support provided to underprivileged students in Andhra Pradesh, including subject-wise English fluency training, digital technology learning, TOEFL preparation, interactive plot panels, chat GPT, e-conference app, and free tablets with Byju’s content to enhance their skills. Praveen Prakash advised the teachers to ensure timely completion of the syllabus and carry out their responsibilities diligently.

B Srinivas Rao, Samagra Siksha State Project Director, urged everyone to remember the contributions of Kasturba Gandhi and Savitribai Phule, who fought for education and equal opportunities for girls and women. He emphasized that KGBV has become synonymous with quality education and highlighted the career success of its former students. Rao encouraged the newly appointed teachers to fulfill their duties responsibly and support their students’ academic excellence. Additionally, he announced that the teachers would undergo subject-specific training and capacity building for one week.

The ceremony was attended by D Madhusudan Rao, KGBV Secretary, Parvathi, Director of School Education, Devananda Reddy, Director of Examinations, Subba Reddy, Director of Mid Day Meals, Dr. Pratap Reddy, Director of SCERT, Rabindranath Reddy, Director of Textbooks, Narsinga Rao, Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institutions, and other dignitaries.
