The noble gesture of the mother of a brain-dead teenage boy has helped breathe life into five persons who are battling for life at different locations.

SP KKN Anburajan said that 16-year-old boy, Basireddy Abhithesh Reddy was hit by his father on the head with a stick and suffered a grievous injury on the head on January 13. The boy was admitted to the Apollo hospital in Hyderabad. On January 16, the doctors declared the boy Abhithesh Reddy brain dead. He was a native of Nakkaladinne village.

Members of Jeevandan Trust, a government organization, then approached Abhithesh Reddy’s mother Tulasamma with the request to donate his organs, including his heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys, which was readily accepted by her. The Jeevandan Trust Organizers and doctors of Apollo Hospitals spoke to YSR district SP Anburajan and urged him to complete the departmental formalities in a short time and facilitate the organ donation process.

Reacting swiftly to the request, the SP directed the in-charge Circle Inspector of Proddutur Rural Yugandhar to go to Apollo Hospitals and complete the departmental formalities in a speedy manner. The Jeevandan Trust and Apollo doctors thanked SP KKN Anburajan for his swift reaction and for fast-tracking the entire process. SP KKN Anburajan appreciated the deceased’s mother for giving consent to donate her son’s organs to a noble cause.
