Minister for Agriculture Kakani Govardhan Reddy has said that the breaches to canals and irrigation tanks would be plugged with the funds of FDR.
The minister along with MLA Ramireddy Prathap Kumar Reddy visited some of the cyclone-affected areas in the Kavali constituency on Tuesday. He saw the Dagadarthi-Chennuru main road which was damaged in the cyclone rains in Dagadarthi mandal. He also visited the ST colony at Viswanatharaopet in Bogole mandal and spoke to the dwellers. He directed the officials to provide the colony dwellers with food and other essentials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister announced that the reconstruction works of breached tanks, canals, and damaged roads would be taken up with the funds of FDR.
He claimed that due to the measures taken in advance by the district administration in the wake of the cyclonic storm warning, there was no loss of life or property in the district. He said that some fields were marooned and horticultural crops were slightly damaged.
