BRS accepts CM’s challenge

Must read

Accepting the challenge thrown by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for a debate on the floor of the House, BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Sunday said that his party would give an answer which will blow the minds of Congress Members.
The BRS leader was responding to the challenge thrown by the Chief Minister while addressing the party’s LB Nagar Assembly constituency meeting. Harish said that during the 10 years of KCR’s government, irrespective of the pressure exerted by the Centre, irrigation projects were not handed over to the KRMB.
“We had laid a condition that 50 per cent share of water should be given, Srisailam should be recognised as a hydel project and only 20 per cent of drinking water should be taken into account.

Even before two months are over after taking over, the Congress government handed over projects putting the interests of the state at stake,” said the former Irrigation Minister, and added that Revanth had no grip on the subject so was spitting venom. He should stop his over-smartness, he added.

Harish asked wasn’t it the Congress government that passed the Bill to hand over projects to the Centre during the division of the state?

“It was your Jaipal Reddy and Jairam Ramesh who had drafted the Bill. Revanth has no idea about irrigation. He is talking cheaply without understanding things. He is bringing water problems to the state,” said Harish, cautioning that Hyderabad would face drinking water shortage. If projects are handed over to the Board, Khammam, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar will have problems with irrigation and drinking water, the BRS leader added.

Harish Rao that Revanth was not qualified to talk about Pothireddypadu.

“Revanth, who was in TDP that day, did not respond to Pothireddypadu, his lips are closed. Look back and then we will talk. We fought hard in the Assembly against Pothireddypadu. We stalled the Assembly for 30 days when water was being taken to Pothireddypadu. We have a history of throwing ministerial posts within a year,” said Harish

The BRS leader said that in the morning, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu told Revanth that there should be sobriety in politics and in the afternoon, Revanth spoke cheap words.

He recalled that in the past the Congress ran away with the excuse of not being prepared. “We are not like that. We will boldly participate in the discussion. They are talking the same way they used to talk when they were in the opposition,” said Harish.

The BRS leader said that the Congress government failed to implement its promises like Rythu Bandhu, pension hike, free electricity and farm loan waiver.

He called upon BRS leaders to win the Malkajgiri MP seat. The BRS must win LS seats to fight for the interests of Telangana in New Delhi, he said.
