Former MLA Balka Suman, BRS General Secretary Soma Bharat Kumar, Gattu Ramachander Rao, Manne Gowradhan Reddy and BRS legal team members Jakkula Lakshman, Kalyan and Lalitha Reddy condemned the police’s bias in favour of the Congress.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Suman expressed displeasure stating, “Some police officials have turned Congress loyalists and are displaying undue bias against the BRS and its activists.”
Suman pointed out that in Khammam, attacks were carried out on BRS leaders and even KTR was targeted in Hyderabad due to police indifference.
“Cases are being filed against BRS social media warriors, while Congress activists are not held accountable for their posts,” he said.
Suman said that during the Assembly elections, Rs 8 crore was reportedly transferred illegally from MLA Vivek’s Visakhapatnam-based company to a suitcase company named Vigilance Security.
I raised this issue with the Election Commission and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

In a press note dated November 23, 2023, the ED confirmed illegal cash transfers involving Vivek’s suitcase company, and he was questioned in January 2024,” Suman said, adding that the ED probe is going on.
He criticised the police attempt to close the case in August under a “mistake of facts” category through a petition filed in court. “We filed a protest petition in Nampally Court against this attempt,” he said, adding that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who handles the Home portfolio, is trying to shield Vivek.

“Even the CM can’t save Vivek, let alone anyone else,” Suman asserted, adding that they are prepared to take the case to the High Court or Supreme Court if necessary.

Suman accused Vivek of using funds transferred through his suitcase company to buy voters and declared, “Vivek will certainly go to jail, lose his MLA post and a by-election is certain in Chennur.”

Referring to the police’s role, Suman warned, “The government is a continuous entity. The police should not become prisoners to Revanth’s political agenda. Do the police intend to carry out every order of Revanth blindly?”

He asked why the police are trying to close Vivek’s case despite ongoing investigations by the Income Tax Department and the ED. He also asked TG police officials to watch developments in Andhra Pradesh, hinting that such compliance could affect their credibility.

He urged the police not to act as agents of the Congress. Citing an increase in attacks on journalists he urged police officials to stop being mere spectators.
