Revanth must visit Musi demolition sites without security: BRS

Must read

BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s handling of the Musi Riverfront Project and the recent demolitions. Addressing a press conference at the Telangana Bhavan on Friday, Kaushik said that the CM’s language against BRS leaders, particularly regarding the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Management Authority (HYDRAA) and the Musi Riverfront, was unbecoming of his office. “No BRS leader is intimidated by Revanth’s threats,” he asserted.
The MLA accused the government of a massive scam in the Musi Riverfront Project and said that Rs 1 lakh crore is unaccounted for in this project.
He contrasted this with the BRS administration’s efforts and said, “Under KCR’s leadership, a Musi beautification proposal worth Rs 16,000 crore was launched, including Rs 3,800 crore for Sewage Treatment Plants and bridges.”
Responding to Revanth Reddy’s derogatory remarks about BRS leaders Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao, he challenged the CM, saying, “If Revanth has the courage, let him visit the demolition sites without security. We’ll see who’s intimidated.”

Kaushik also criticised the government’s recent demolitions targeting the poor and said Revanth was a “sadistic” Chief Minister targeting the underprivileged.

“The supposed riverbed restrictions are nothing but an excuse. It’s not on the RB (River Bed), it’s ‘Revanth’s Bulldozer,’” he remarked.

He warned that any demolition of a house in his constituency would have serious repercussions.  “Huzurabad will turn into a fiery battleground even if a single house is demolished.”

He asked officials to exercise caution and refrain from overzealous actions and warned that the KCR government will return to power.

Kaushik emphasised that officers involved in wrongful demolitions would not be spared. Highlighting the violation of past High Court orders, he accused the Congress government of demolishing houses under the guise of lake encroachments.

“Revanth’s agenda regarding the Musi Riverfront Project is to fill his pockets,” he said. He questioned the silence of Rahul Gandhi, who speaks against ‘bulldozer raj’ elsewhere but has remained silent about the demolitions in Telangana.

Touching on the Kaleshwaram Project, Kaushik refuted the allegations of corruption, asserting that the project has provided irrigation to 38 lakh acres unlike the Musi Project, which he said is just corruption without any benefit for the people.
