PNS | Hyderabad

TPCC President Revanth Reddy said that the Congress will soon issue a declaration regarding lands assigned to Dalits and tribals and will give them ownership rights.
He also said that the Congress will clear the SC reservations categorisation issue between SCs.

Speaking to the media along with former Minister Chandrasekhar at Chandrasekhar’s residence on Sunday, Revanth said that Chandrasekhar had put a condition to join the Congress that the party must give ownership rights to the assigned lands of SCs and tribals.

“The Congress has accepted the Chandrasekhar’s proposal. We are organizing a public meeting on August 18 in which AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge is participating. There would be a declaration during that which will definitely favour the poor,” Revanth said.
He said that the BRS government is engaging in real estate business by taking over the assigned lands of Dalits and tribals and that the BRS government grabbed 35 lakh acres belonging to Dalits on various pretexts. The BRS government has become a land grabber and it is selling the grabbed lands, he said.

The TPCC President said that Chandrasekhar played a key role in the Telangana movement. But KCR engaged in huge corruption and looted Rs 1 lakh crore. Chandrasekhar joined the BJP believing its leader’s words. There is no doubt that the relationship between the BJP and the BRS is a fevicol bond. Everyone must join hands with Congress to get rid of the pests and the state’s woes. The Congress will increase SC, ST reservations as per their population and give them the rights they deserve, he said.

Revanth said that Chandrasekhar had accepted his invitation to join the Congress as part of the party’s bid for political reunification.

It may be recalled that Chandrasekhar had worked with the TDP, the TRS and the Congress and joined the BJP three years ago. Chandrasekhar lost the 2018 Assembly elections in Vikarabad which he had contested as an Independent. He lost the 2019 Parliament election while contesting from Peddapalli as a Congress candidate and is re-joining the Congress now.

Chandrasekhar won five times from Vikarabad from 1985 to 2008 continuously. He was a Minister in the cabinets of Chandrababu Naidu and YS Rajashekar Reddy.
