The BRS government totally failed in procuring paddy, BJP MLA Eatala Rajender said.
He said that farmers are facing a lot of problems as the government failed to make adequate arrangements at paddy procurement centres.
He said that the farmers were approaching middlemen due to lack of proper procurement centres. Although the procurement centres are paying Rs 2020 per quintal, farmers are selling their paddy to middlemen for Rs 1300 to Rs 1600 a quintal, he said.
Speaking to the media at Huzurabad on Saturday, Eatala said that the BRS government has been resorting to attacks if anything is spoken against the government by opposition parties.
He said that while farmers are in tears as their paddy has been washed away by unseasonal rains, Ministers and MLAs are enjoying by taking part in celebrations.
Eatala demanded that KCR should react and speed up the procurement of paddy. He also asked the CM to take steps to purchase rain-soaked paddy.
