BRS govt strived for economic empowerment of Gowdas

Former minister T Harish Rao has said that the BRS government worked hard for the welfare and economic empowerment of Gowds. The KCR regime took steps to celebrate the birth anniversary and observe death anniversary of Sarvai Papanna officially.
On the occasion of celebrating birth anniversary of Sarvai Papanna here on Sunday, Harish Rao paid rich tributes to him by garlanding statue of Sarvai Papanna.  He described Sarvai Papanna as a great fighter who fought for building modern society transcending the borders of narrow caste, religion and other considerations.
He hailed Sarvai Papanna as the Bahujana ruler of the 17th century. The Gouds have been organizing the birth anniversary celebrations deriving inspiration from Sarvai Papanna.
The KCR regime waived the tree tax for toddy tappers and revived the toddy tappers’ societies and reserved 15 per cent of the shops to toddy tappers.
KCR ensured that there no false cases were foisted on toddy depots by excise department  during  his 10-year rule.
Earlier, he flagged off a rally by Gouds in the town.
The KCR government established toddy gardens on a large scale. It provided accident insurance to the toddy tappers falling from toddy trees by accident, he said.
However, the Congress government has been foisting false cases on toddy depots to harass the toddy tapers.
Later, he unveiled Sarvai Papanna Goud statue in Nangunuru mandal.
Several members of the Goud community, including Marupalli Srinivas Goud, Balkishan Goud, Sai Goud, Rangadhampalli Srinivas Goud, Navin Goud, Ambati Mahesh Goud.
