The Telangana government has now access to data on the Karnataka elections.
The Telangana police raided Sunil Kanugolu’s Mindshare United Foundation’s office in Gachibowli in connection with a case filed over the posting of offensive comments against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on social media and his government.
Police seized a lot of data and are analysing the seized laptops and mobile phones. Sources associated with the firm told ‘The Pioneer’ that the police seized data on Karnataka elections.
“We were almost done with the work and within 10 days would have submitted it to the Congress. The data seized has strategy for every constituency including election surveys, political strategy and management analytics, political intelligence, election campaign management and digital media management.
It includes caste-based mapping, candidate-wise mapping and polarisation-sensitive constituencies. In short, the Congress strategy for Karnataka is in the hands of the BRS now. For a handbill or poster nobody comes and seizes everything,” sources said.
The sources indicated that the seized data had minute details on the positives and negatives of candidates. The organisation is reportedly working for the five states of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Rajasthan.
Explaining the incident sources said, “The team who witnessed the police raid are terrified. We also have recordings of brutality. Some of the employees are terrified. But everyone is clear on one thing. The police came for Karnataka data. The BRS wants to expand in Karnataka and had even said they would support the JDS.
The seized data is a gold mine for the BRS which we are certain will be shared. If the Congress gains in Karnataka, even in Telangana it will gain momentum. It is like one shot, two birds for the BRS.”
Sources indicated that Sunil has given confidence to the terrified employees after the events. In the Facebook page ‘Telangana Galam’ a video portrayed the Chief Minister, his daughter Kavitha and son K. Taraka Rama Rao as characters of the movie ‘Mayabazar.’
According to a complaint lodged by a citizen named Samrat with Cyber Crime, CCS Hyderabad, the video’s content posted on ‘Telangana Galam’ ‘incites’ a certain group and might cause law and order problems in the State.Sunil says that he was politically targeted by the Telangana Police at the behest of the ruling BRS, due to the elections scheduled in 2023 in the state.
