The BRS will not make any big change in Assembly constituencies falling within GHMC limits. There are 24 constituencies in the GHMC area and most of the sitting MLAs in these constituencies are likely to get tickets. Barring Uppal and Cantonment, largely all sitting MLAs will continue.

Even though there is anti-incumbency against MLAs including some ministers, highly placed sources said that the lack of a strong opponent will help the BRS to win. Sources in the party said that the CM, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, is very particular about giving tickets to sitting MLAs.

In Uppal, there is a tough fight between MLA Bethi Subhash Reddy, Bonthu Ram Mohan and ex-Congress leader Bandari Lakshma Reddy.

In Cantonment due to the death of the incumbent MLA, the candidate has not been decided. The recently deceased MLA Sayanna’s daughters met KCR after the Assembly paid its respects, but Krishank Manne is also in the race.

There are speculations about change in Maheshwaram where Sabitha Indra Reddy is the incumbent, but the BRS may not give in to the threats of Teegala Krishna.

The BRS recently said that AIMIM is a friendly party. So in constituencies where the AIMIM has won like Bahadurpura, Chandrayanagutta, Charminar, Goshamahal, Karwan, Malakpet, Yakatpura and Nampally, the BRS may not give a tough fight.

In Amberpet, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad, Musheerabad, Sanathnagar and Secunderabad sitting MLAs are likely to get tickets. The same is the case in Malkajgiri, Qutubullapur, Serilingampally, Rajendranagar, LB Nagar and Patancheruvu.

The BRS is getting ready for the Assembly elections in Telangana. The Pink Party, which is already busy recruiting leaders from other parties, is conducting district-wise reviews.

BRS Working President KTR is conducting meetings with leaders at the ground level. It is known that KTR recently met MPs, ministers and MLAs of the erstwhile Karimnagar district. The leaders were told to aim for a clean sweep in the district. He said that government programmes should be widely publicised.

The BRS is trying to defeat the opposition and come to power a third time.

Chief Minister KCR has reportedly prepared the list of BRS candidates in view of the possibility of the election schedule getting released soon.

BRS sources said that there is a chance of the party announcing its list after Independence Day. They hinted that there are opportunities for new candidates in 29 constituencies
