BRS neglected Kaloji Kalakshetram for 10 years

The Revanth Reddy-led Congress government has fixed as September 9 muhurat for inaugurating the Kaloji Kalakshetram in Hanamkonda, near here.
The BRS regime failed speed up the construction of Kaloji Kalakshetram, for which the stone was laid during the early days of the KCR government. For the past nine years, the BRS did not allocate funds to it.
Revanth Reddy, soon after coming to power, paid special interest on Kaloji Kalakshetram and set the deadline for its completion and fixed muhurat for its inauguration on  September 9, celebrated as the birth anniversary of Kaloji.
As a result, the works have picked up momentum.
KCR laid the foundation stone for the project on Sep 9, 2014, in connection with Kaloji’s birth anniversary. He promised to build the Kaloji Kalakshetram on 4.5 acre site in Hayagreevachary grounds. KCR boasted of completing it within an year of construction building the auditorium on a grand scale than that of Ravindrabharati in Hyderabad.

The BRS insisted of developing a garden along with installing the tallest statue of Kaloji. The total seating capacity should not exceed 2000. KCR then announced allocation of Rs 50 crore for the project. The BRS elders delayed in releasing Rs 50 crore for the project.
