BRS places 5 demands ahead of CM’s Warangal visit

Must read

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will be visiting Warangal and  BRS leader Enugula Rakesh Reddy addressed a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, placing five demands.
He criticised the Congress for their attacks, alleging that they have been busy with Delhi tours and foisting cases. Rakesh Reddy questioned the CM’s priorities, noting that while it is commendable to start the tour in Warangal, it is peculiar that the visit is for the inauguration of a private hospital.
Rakesh Reddy stated that during the Warangal visit, there are five key demands: the immediate revamp of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital, expediting the construction of the multi-specialty hospital for which CM KCR laid the foundation, addressing and resolving the existing problems at AIIMS Hospital, clarifying the position on preserving the historical Kakatiya Arch, and focusing on improving public healthcare facilities instead of inaugurating corporate hospitals.
He highlighted the dire state of government hospitals, emphasizing the long queues due to a shortage of doctors and the dependency on private labs for tests. MGM Hospital lacks sufficient beds and paramedical staff, leading to multiple patients sharing beds and doctors struggling with limited resources.
The recent five-hour power outage at MGM Hospital left patients in distress, showcasing the critical need for better infrastructure. Rakesh Reddy criticized the Congress administration, comparing the state’s financial situation to “a coconut falling on a withered tree,” indicating the fragile economic condition.
He expressed dismay that even after years of independence, citizens still have to plead for free healthcare in front of the media. He concluded by urging the government to invest in public health instead of wasting money on ineffective schemes. Ends
