With the feedback from the parliamentary constituency-wise review meetings, BRS President and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to take a decision on purging the party from the ground level. In the parliamentary constituencies review meetings which concluded on Monday, the party workers openly expressed their opinion about the reasons for the defeat in the recent Assembly elections.
The top BRS leaders who participated in the review meetings are going to meet the party president KCR in two or three days to explain in detail about party workers’ opinion and to take further action. In the first week of February, the BRS will appoint observers for Assembly constituencies to interact with party workers. According to sources, one observer will be appointed for four to five Assembly constituencies.
Meanwhile, the main issues raised by the party workers in the review meetings was that they were completely ignored and there was no involvement of party workers in providing various welfare schemes to the beneficiaries. The party was overloaded with the new joinings from various parties and ignored the real activists who participated in the separate Telangana movement. Failure in the implementation of some schemes like Dalit Bandhu, not giving importance for party activists in nominated posts and the top leaders not meeting the party workers regularly were highlighted.
