BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday exhorted the party activists not to be disheartened by the party’s poor performance in the Assembly elections. He expressed confidence that the BRS would become successful in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. “Let us fight with a renewed vigour to restore the party to its former glory,” he said.
Addressing the extended meeting of the party workers here, KTR alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has been boasting of filling thousands of jobs within three months of coming to power just by giving appointment orders to the successful candidates recruited during the BRS regime.
The BRS failed to give publicity for its achievements having filled several vacancies in various government departments during its regime.
The Congress benefited by provoking the unemployed and the employed, he said.
He called the former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s regime as the golden era for the farmers. The credit for providing irrigation facility even to the tail-end lands should go to KCR, he said. The BRS regime established three medical colleges in the undivided Nalgonda district, he said.
There is a growing popular discontent against the Congress government. The people became disillusioned with the government within three months of it coming to power, he felt.
Congress promised a waiver of the crop loans, but there was no indication when it would happen. The Congress duped farmers by denying them input subsidy under the Rytu Bandhu scheme, he said.
Now is the time for the farmers to hit back the Congress leaders with sandals and teach a befitting lesson to them in the Lok Sabha elections, he said.
After the Lok Sabha elections, Revanth Reddy would be the first person to quit the Congress and join the BJP to get relief from cases filed against him, KTR said.
Former Minister G Jagadish Reddy alleged that the State government has become insensitive to farmers’ suicides. It has become customary for the ruling Congress to foist false cases on the opposition leaders to inflict fear among opposition leaders, he alleged.
The Congress leaders lacked courage to visit Nagarjunasagar dam and release water for irrigation, he said.
